MoonCat Karaoke @ NärCon 2016

And so another NärCon has come and gone. A great con and so many Pokémon GOers! (most of the us included hehe). And also an absolute explosion in popularity for Love Live and Hamilton.

We've heard that some were unable to find us as our room as quite a bit away from the other two karaoke rooms. There was also some confusion about what room we were actually in. Stuff like this does happen and we're sorry for anyone who missed us. For next time we plan to have a nice sign out in the hallway that can be seen from down the hall.

MoonCat Karaoke @ Genki 2016

It really has been a busy year for us, a lot of conventions and som new ones as well.

It's a bit late but down below are the most sung songs from Genki this year.

An applaud to everyone who came in to sing despite the lack of air conditioning. We completely understand those who took one step through the door and turned on the spot ^^''

We didn't have a lot of time this year so the song list was kept quite varied with a lot of songs taking the second spot. Still can't seem to LET a certain song GO though ;)

Aladdin - A Whole New World
Frozen - Let It Go
Romeo x Juliet op - Inori ~ You Raise Me Up

MoonCat Karaoke @ KodachiCon 2016

Back to Sweden and our very own KodachiCon!

We got a record braking amount or requests during the con. About a hundered! I really wish everyone would put their requests in before the con though. Easier to get them to you when you want them and for the right con.

Top song requests at KodachiCon 2016

1. Tokyo Ghoul op - unravel
2. Hobbit, The - I See Fire
3. Frozen - Let It Go
4. Mulan - I'll Make a Man Out of You
5. Lion King, The - Snart är det jag som är kung
    Pokemon - Pokemon Theme
6. One Punch Man op - THE HERO!! ~Ikareru Kobushi ni Hi wo Tsukero~
7. Aladdin - A Whole New World
Gummi Bears - Här kommer Bumbibjörnarna
    KAITO - Cantarella ~grace edition~

The past favorites hang in there but we also have songs like One Punch Man stealing some spotlight and a surprising KAITO also making the list. We even had all the Alexander Hamilton songs sneaking in at 9th place with a bunch of other songs. Without a doubt the most popular musical this con.

As for most sung series, the spotlight shines on Love Live! School Idol Project with Aishiteru Banzai being the most sung song.

Remember, request the songs you want before the con so we'll have a chance to time them for you. Read the rules and put in a request in the comment section at the MoonCat Karaoke page here on the blog.
Don't forget to write witch con you want them for!

No K-pop for NärCon. Please go to Pandora Bang and check their list if k-pop is your passion.

MoonCat Karaoke @ J-popcon 2016

Our second time at J-popcon and I'm sorry to say I missed it. But that's life. Some times you just have to stay home in bed and sleep off the fever.

A bit of a short list this time as we weren't open for very long.

1. Frozen - Let It Go

2. Mulan - I'll Make a Man Out of You (Danish)

Neon Genesis Evangelion ed - Fly Me to the Moon

I really wish I could have seen all the Love Live fans sing and dance T^T

MoonCat Karaoke @ NärCon Vinter 2016

First time at NärCon Vinter! A bit different from the big summer con but just as fun!

Personally, I'm happy to see A-RISE (see what I did there ;) ) in Love Live popularity and that unravel is still hanging in there. And welcome One Punch Man, yeah!

A very wide spread of songs this time and bit of an unexpected top. All official versions of a song are counted as the same song and the most sung version gets to represent it in the list. The Swedish versions usually aren't sung that much but two of them made the list this time. Are people feeling nostalgic at the beginning of a new year? Who knows? :P
